The chamois in the knicks is ludicrously thick and stiff, I've never known a pair of knicks like it. It's something like 2 cm thick and inflexible so it feels like you've got a big block of foam wedged between your legs as you awkwardly waddle around, and you basically do.
I got these at half price in a sale but that's still a terrible deal because I'm never going to use them, and the fine print says that Bellweather won't refund or exchange items that were on sale so that's $100 completely wasted.
Hi Anthony,
We feel that we must respond to your review to clarify some points that you have raised. The chamois is an Italian Pro HD chamois that is fitted to many brands of bib shorts, not just Bellwether. It is an ergonomic design of varying thickness – thicker where the pressure points are located and thinner in other places to allow free movement and breathability. At its thickest point it is around 8mm thick uncompressed. A typical chamois is around 10 to 12mm thick.
Assos chamois are widely used in the pro peloton, and they are available in a range of thicknesses from 8mm through to 21mm depending on time on the bike and the terrain being ridden.
Please note that the sale terms are not hidden in the fine print; they are highlighted under the sizing chart alongside the product images on the page for everyone to clearly see.
Regards
Bellwether
Great feel and super comfortable.
This is a compression fit compared to the Newton and Axiom, but does retain the same sizing.
Very happy with this purchase.
